How to Install My Indicators and RA-BOT in MetaTrader 5

This guide covers my 4 indicators (RA-TREND, RA-TREND 2, RA-SIGNAL 2, RA-LEVEL 2) and the RA-BOT assistant. They all work only on MetaTrader 5 and on Windows. The license is tied to the “account number + email” pair that you sent to the bot.

Important: the products do not work on a demo account, only on the real account you linked.

Before you start

1. Download MetaTrader 5 from your broker’s website.
2. Log in to your trading account with the account number and password your broker gave you.
3. Enable the DLL permission once: Tools → Options → Expert Advisors and check “Allow DLL imports”. This way you won’t run into problems later.

Installing an indicator

1. In MetaTrader 5, open File → Open Data Folder.
2. Go into the MQL5 folder and then into Indicators.
3. Copy the indicator file that the bot sent you into that folder.
4. Close MetaTrader 5 and open it again.
5. Open the Navigator with Ctrl+N (or View → Navigator). The indicator appears in the Indicators list.
6. Drag the indicator onto the chart of the instrument you want. The settings window opens: check the DLL box.
7. In the Inputs tab, enter the email you sent to the bot. Without it, the indicator will not activate. Adjust the rest of the options there as well.
8. Click OK. Done.

Repeat the same steps with each indicator.

Installing RA-BOT

1. Open File → Open Data Folder, go into MQL5 and then into Experts.
2. Copy the RA-BOT file into that folder.
3. Close MetaTrader 5 (and any open folders) and open it again.
4. In the Navigator (Ctrl+N), find RA-BOT under Expert Advisors.
5. Drag it onto the chart. In the settings window, check the DLL box.
6. In Inputs, enter your email and adjust the parameters, including those of the indicators built into the bot.
7. Turn on the Algo Trading button (algorithmic trading) in the top toolbar. If it is off, the bot will not manage positions.

How RA-BOT manages the position

In the bot’s panel you define the volume, the take profit and the control level. You can change them later in the panel or by dragging the lines on the chart. From the panel you can also launch the indicators. There are three modes:

• Reversal: no stop loss. When the control level is reached, the position is flipped with a larger volume (for example, a buy of 1 lot → a sell of 2 lots). Settings: lot increase method (classic or mathematical) and profit target in the account currency.
• Averaging: no stop loss. It adds positions in the original direction when the price moves against you. Settings: lot multiplier, Fibonacci levels above 100 (separated by commas) and the profit target for the series.
• Trailing: with a known stop loss (the control level). It moves the trade to breakeven after a certain distance and then moves the stop in steps. Settings: trailing distance and step, in points.

Reversal and averaging without a stop loss can greatly increase risk. Use them with a small volume and make sure you understand how they work before trading with real money. Read the risk disclaimer.

If something doesn’t work

• The indicator does not activate: check that the email is written exactly as the one you sent to the bot and that you are on the linked account (not on demo).
• It doesn’t appear in the Navigator: check that the file is in the right folder (Indicators for indicators, Experts for RA-BOT) and restart MetaTrader 5.
• DLL error: enable “Allow DLL imports” in Tools → Options → Expert Advisors.
• Changing the linked account: you can do it once a year at no cost.
